Catalunya is an active member of The Climate Group's States & Regions programme.


Targets/Goals

  • In July 2011 Catalonia drew up an Energy and Climate Change Plan 2012-2020 which demonstrates its leading approach towards clean energies. Its objectives complement the 2020 EU Strategy: a 20% emissions reduction from 1990 levels, 20% of energy from renewable resources and 20% energy savings by 2020. Main actions will be taken in the transport, construction and industrial sectors.
  • The Action Plan is designed to implement the Framework Plan, and in 2011 85% of the 180 actions planned are underway.
