Greenhouse Indicator Annual Report 2010

This Annual Report covers greenhouse emissions from energy during 2010 and compares them with emissions from 2009, as well as previous years.
The report finds that:
- Greenhouse gas emissions from energy-use fell in 2010 by 2.2 per cent, or 6.6. million tonnes of emissions
- The decrease comes on top of a 1.8 per cent decrease the previous year
- New South Wales recorded the largest decrease of any state of 5.3 million tonnes or just under five per cent on 2009 emissions levels
- Emissions in Victoria, Queensland and South Australia all fell by around 0.7 per cent
- Electricity generation and emissions from coal generation fell by around 5 per cent across the states while generation from gas increased by 21 per cent, with a particular rise in Queensland with two new gas power stations commissioned
